A couple of months ago, I signed up for an intermediate-level class in English conversation.
When I first entered the class, it was full of students.
There were many English classes around my classroom and a beginner-level classroom was next to mine. At that time, it was very quiet in my classroom and I could only hear other students from the next. They said, "Hello. Nice to meet you. I'm from Korea. What's your name?" When I first heard them, I was disappointed. Learning such basic things, which we already learned before entering university, was ridiculous.

In case of my class, we first learned about English tenses such as present perfect progressive, present perfect, and things like that. At that time, the theme of midterm and final exams was about a first meeting. For example, we are meeting on the bus to Busan. The professor is a foreigner. Students have to talk about Korean famous restaurants, customs and famous tourist spots.
I think it's not intermediate-level. What's the difference between the "intermediate-level and the "beginner class"?
I can't totally understand the teaching method of my university.
